A brief introduction

I am a French native speaker and I have lived in the UK since 2007. I obtained QTS in July 2010 and I have been teaching French up to GCSE and A level since then.

I currently work for Saint Clement Danes School in Chorleywood where I teach Spanish at KS3, and French at KS3, KS4 and KS5.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked as an MFL teacher across primary and secondary for 16 years now, and I am familiar with the AQA specification for GCSE and A level. I spent most of my career in a language specialist school, The Sacred Heart Language College, within a department who has consistently achieved some of the best results in the school and the borough. As with my current school, only a very small group of students were exempt from languages, and under strict criteria.

I now teach an average of 320 students over three days, including two exam groups, and one of my biggest strengths is adaptive teaching for SEN pupils.

Teaching Method

I use a range of different methods, chosen based on individual needs, and constantly update my practice through CPL both within and outside of schools.

I am also currently looking into specialising in therapeutic teaching for pupils whose emotional needs have made whole school settings inadequate.

Each session is carefully prepared based on previous attainments and focuses on gaps identified.

I also deliver lessons where the focus is on skills needed for exam preparation, and attend several AQA training a year to keep up to date with marking criteria.
