A brief introduction
With over 8 years of experience in immunology research, I specialise in advancing our understanding of the role of regulatory T cells (Tregs) under challenged condition (such as wounding), particularly through exploring skin and lung-resident Tregs influence on other local immune populations. My most recent project is working on ion channels of Tregs. Currently, I am working as a research associate with Dr Niwa Ali in King's College London.
At King's College London, I conduct in-depth research on tissue-resident Tregs using various techniques such as automatic patch clamp, calcium imaging and flow cytometry, while optimising data analysis through Python coding. I have also gained extensive experience analysing various bulk and single cell RNAseq dataset. Collaborating closely with our team, I have published two first author publications and contribute to multiple publications as secondary author. I strongly believe impactful discoveries in immunology comes from precision in experimental methodologies and a culture of team work and knowledge-sharing.
Consulting Experience
I am an immunology researcher with over eight years of experience studying the immune system and its role in tissue biology and disease. I completed an MSci in Genetics at University College London before working as a research technician in Dr Filipe Cabreiro's microbiology–metabolism lab, where I investigated interactions between the host, microbiome, and environment using C. elegans as a model system. I later pursued a PhD in Immunology at King's College London, where my research focused on characterising Jagged1-expressing skin-resident regulatory T cells and their role in epithelial stem cell homeostasis. My work explores how immune cells interact with tissue stem cells to regulate regeneration and disease.
Consulting Method
I take a student-led approach to consulting, focusing on helping students discover what they genuinely enjoy and guiding them to think critically about their future academic paths. Rather than directing students toward predetermined subjects or careers, I encourage exploration, curiosity, and self-reflection. Through open conversations and thoughtful questioning, I help students examine their interests, strengths, and motivations. My goal is to support them in evaluating different fields not only for practicality but also for personal meaning and long-term engagement. By developing their critical thinking and giving them ownership of the decision-making process, I help students choose undergraduate, master or PhD subjects that feel less like work and more like something they truly love to pursue.
