A brief introduction
I am a Mechanical Engineer.
I'm a UK Qualified lecturer, examiner and an assessor with 9 years of teaching and tutoring experience for GCSEs, Alevels, BTECs for Physics, Maths ,Chemistry and Engineering subjects.
I am a fully qualified teacher ( Teacher Training Level-5 Diploma in Teaching) with over nine years of experience teaching across all major exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Cambridge qualifications. Currently, I am a FT Lecturer Mechanical Engineering at a FE college in London.
I teach GCSE's, A Levels, BTECs, and IB, specialising in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Engineering subjects. I teach across all levels from Level-1 to Level-6, including FE and HE( HNC and HND Engineering qualifications)
My subject specialism is Physics and Engineering, but I do teach Sciences including Chemistry and Math too. I have extensive experience delivering high-quality, engaging lessons and supporting students to achieve high levels of academic success. I design lessons that develop both theoretical understanding and practical application, using a range of teaching strategies to meet different learning needs.
Tutoring Experience
As a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering, I deliver high-quality learner centred teaching across Engineering BTEC Level 2, Level 3, and T-Levels in Design and Manufacturing, ensuring students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills aligned with industry standards. I teach and assess BTEC L3 Unit-1 Engineering Principles, achieving a 90% success rate, as well as City & Guilds T-Levels Unit-6 Materials for Core Exam-1, along with Unit-7 Machining Techniques (Double Credit Unit) for Level 2, securing a 95% pass rate for the 2023/24 academic year. I actively support student progress through setting ILP(Individual Learning plan) SMART targets, one-to-one tutoring, and differentiated instruction, ensuring all learners receive the necessary support to achieve full potential. Additionally, I provide pastoral care, identifying barriers to learning and referring students to our learning support team which plan NWOW (Normal Way of Working) according to various learning needs. I also facilitate career mentoring, advising students on Engineering apprenticeships (liaising with Heathrow, Ryan air, Mars etc) higher education pathways (Top-up degrees), and employment opportunities (Degree apprenticeships and early college graduate Level 3 job roles) within the engineering sector.Beyond teaching, I contribute to assessment and moderation, tracking learner progress, conducting mock assessments, and ensuring compliance with awarding body standards. My City and Guilds Associate role for T-levels design and development, whereby I internally assess, verify and standardize markings of exams and Employer Set Project.Building strong industry links is a key part of my role, allowing me to organise work placements, site visits, and guest lectures. Also I am part of delivery and management of EAL Level 1 Engineering qualification at ENGME, contributing to maximum SAR % (Success, Achievement, and Retention), course reviews, student progression tracking, and moderation completion. Additionally, I contribute to curriculum development, course planning, and qualification management, supporting (SAR).
Adding to this, I meticulously plan and deliver engaging and structured lessons that cater to diverse learning styles, ensuring students grasp complex mechanical engineering principles through a combination of theoretical instruction, practical demonstrations, and industry-relevant case studies.Teaching units such as Engineering Principles, Engineeing Drawings, Thermodynamics , fluid dynamics ,CAD and behaviour of metallic materials as part of BTEC Engineering specification is my key delivery of units. I develop detailed schemes of work and lesson plans, mapping out learning objectives, key topics, assessment strategies, and progression milestones to ensure a coherent and comprehensive learning experience. To maintain high educational standards, I design formative and summative assessments, including written exams, and practical evaluations, aligning them with awarding body requirements such as City & Guilds, EAL, and Pearson Edexcel. Termly health checks on student progress allow me to identify learning gaps and implement targeted interventions, such as additional tutoring or differentiated instruction.By embedding health and safety best practices within practical sessions, I ensure students follow proper risk assessments and workshop protocols, creating a safe and effective learning environment.I actively engage in continuous professional development (CPD) to ensure my teaching methods align with Ofsted and institutional quality standards. In practical training environments, I prioritise health and safety compliance, ensuring students follow proper procedures and risk assessments.I am currently also part of City and Guilds Level-5 Diploma in Teaching (DIT) which is on-going for me. My current role as Pearson Associate for marking national exams also involves assessment, verifying validity, quality checks and moderation of assessment techniques.
Teaching Method
I am a Qualified Lecturer and Tutor with over eight years of teaching experience delivering high-quality education across GCSE, A-Level, BTEC (Level 1–6, including HND), T-Levels, EAL, and Higher Education Engineering programmes. I teach learners from Primary through to Further and Higher Education, adapting my approach to suit individual learning styles, abilities, and academic goals. My specialist areas include Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Engineering Principles, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, CAD, Engineering Drawing, Materials and Manufacturing, as well as GCSE and A-Level Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (including Further Mathematics). I design and deliver structured, learner-centred lessons aligned with Pearson Edexcel, AQA, OCR, Cambridge, City & Guilds, and EAL specifications, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application and industry-relevant case studies. I implement differentiated instruction, SMART target setting through Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), and regular progress reviews to ensure high achievement, contributing to strong success and pass rates across programmes. My responsibilities include assessment, internal verification, standardisation, moderation, mock examinations, and Employer Set Project marking, ensuring full compliance with awarding body requirements. I also provide academic mentoring, pastoral support, and career guidance, supporting progression into apprenticeships, degree pathways, and engineering employment. Committed to continuous professional development, I hold an AET qualification, have completed teacher training, and am currently undertaking the Level 5 Diploma in Teaching, maintaining high standards aligned with institutional and quality assurance frameworks.
