A brief introduction
A bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology , along with GCE (5A*, 4As) and
Alevels (1A*, 2As, 1B) in stem subjects gives me a benefit of strong educational background and also makes me familiar with UK's national curriculam. Combined with this, I have a teaching experience in a classroom setting at both KS3 and KS4 level as I taught Stem courses and Maths. Prior to starting my teaching career, I did my training for my professional development from LUMS in Organizational Behavior. Moreover, I was also provided with training in teaching during my probation period at the last school where I worked for almost two years. Given the training, combined with my work experience in the educational sector, I've mastered over communication and organisational skills.
I effectively foster an open dialogue with my students and in conveying information
effectively, which is a necessity, given how children at times feel reluctant to open up to a teacher. Moreover, I have strong collaborative skills so I can easily coordinate with other teachers and school's admin as a team to create a learning environment for students. My communication skills help me report student's feedback to the learner's parents. Additionally, I have the ability to remain calm and supportive during my interactions with students, creating a positive learning atmosphere. I've also a strong grasp over technical educational tools such as 3D learning, stimulation tools or PHET which I use while teaching to make classroom more immersive. As a tutor, you've to be constantly on your toes which is why I believe I'm suitable for this role as I'm not only spontaneous but also creative so depending on the students and the classroom environment, I can quickly bring changes to my planning to make it more effective for my learners. I'm always ready to face new challenges, training or mentorship required to be an effective tutor.
Tutoring Experience
I have worked as a Learning support assistant, teaching assistant, private tutor and a secondary teacher. I have experience of teaching Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Maths at a secondary level in a proper classroom environment and help them develop effective communication skills. Maintaining records of 180+ students in class as their class teacher, I also assist them academically, as well as out of classroom. Moreover, my duties also included making power point presentations, quizzes, worksheets for each concept weekly and using tools like Canva, Microsoft Power Point, Google Meet, and LMS of the school. Communication, adaptability, time management and critical thinking were
the major skills I learnt amongst many. I also prepared students for their Cambridge checkpoints, progression tests and round square events outside of regular working hours.I taught science subjects and english language to GCSE and Alevels students for 10 hours a week. I created and shared academic notes, assignments, quizzes to reinforce understanding, and utilised a virtual whiteboard during our sessions for interactive learning. All of my students who appeared in their Cambridge exams,
successfully achieved As and A*s. Moreover, I was also responsible for providing intervention learning strategies
Teaching Method
I deliver each concept through power point presentation, engaging videos and using tools like phet, 3d stimulation techniques to help deliver the concept effectively. To ensure that the student has gotten the concept, I then go through exam style questions where eventually student becomes independent enough to solve the papers as good practice.
