A brief introduction

I am an adaptable and results-driven educator currently completing my final year of Law at Liverpool John Moores University. With a background spanning primary, middle, and senior school tutoring, I pride myself on tailoring my communication style to suit any age group. Whether I am introducing foundational concepts to younger students or guiding A-Level candidates through complex theory, my goal is to create a genuine curiosity for learning. My professional experience at TED and in high-level legal operations has equipped me with the precision and public-speaking skills necessary to make every lesson engaging and clear.

Tutoring Experience

University Level: My teaching career is grounded in hands-on academic support, having successfully completed my student teaching hours at my university. This experience allowed me to mentor peers and undergraduate students, refining my ability to break down advanced material into accessible insights.

O and A levels: I have extensive experience teaching a broad spectrum of subjects across Primary, Middle, and Senior school levels. However, I specialize in A-Level Law, Business, and Sociology. Being a peer tutor in A levels also taught me about the challenges students face while appearing for Cambridge exams. Having navigated these subjects myself and applied them in professional environments, including a Chambers-ranked Fintech firm and the Federal Tax Ombudsman, I provide students with both academic mastery and real-world context to help them excel in their exams.

School Students: I have helped students pass exams in grades 1-11. My core specialisation lies in English, Social Studies, Science, Islamiat, Global Perspectives, and other humanities subjects.

Teaching Method

  1. I move beyond static screen-sharing by using collaborative virtual whiteboards (like Miro). This allows students to live-map legal arguments or business case studies alongside me, making the online experience just as tactile and interactive as an in-person session.
  2. To ensure long-term retention, I integrate gamified retrieval practice using tools like Kahoot and Quizlet. These 'fast-paced drills' turn repetitive memorization into an engaging challenge, ensuring students master foundational terminology without the boredom of traditional rote learning.
  3. For my A-Level Law, Business, and Sociology students, I employ the Flipped Classroom model. I provide high-yield pre-session materials, allowing our 1-on-1 time to be 100% dedicated to complex problem-solving, essay-structuring, and high-level critical debate.

My general approach to teaching fosters a kind and encouraging environment where students can open up about their problems and share new ideas. I focus on using past papers and revision techniques for better exam preparation. The aforementioned methods are ones I have learnt from different institutions during my teaching experience.
