A brief introduction

I am Fozia Maalik, an experienced Business Studies educator from Pakistan with over 13 years of teaching experience at Beaconhouse School System, specialising in Cambridge A Level (GCE) Business. I have a proven track record of delivering high-quality, student-centred learning and am confident in my ability to contribute effectively within an international school environment.

Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence, designing engaging and inquiry-based lessons that promote critical thinking, independent learning, and creativity. My teaching has consistently resulted in strong examination outcomes, with a significant proportion of students achieving A–C grades*.

I am highly familiar with the Cambridge, Edexcel, and AQA curricula, including their assessment objectives and examination requirements, and I ensure my teaching practice remains aligned with current educational developments and best practice. I am particularly passionate about fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom culture that enables students to reach their full academic potential.

Teaching Method

Teach concepts clearly and in line with the Cambridge, Edexcel, and AQA syllabi, using simple language and real-life business examples that students can easily relate to.

Use case studies to help students apply what they have learned, understand real business situations, and identify problems and opportunities.

Support students in developing strong exam-answer writing skills, with a focus on explaining ideas, evaluating options, and reaching clear, balanced conclusions.

Encourage active participation through class discussions, questioning, and activities that develop independent and critical thinking.

Regularly use current business news and global/local examples to help students feel confident when facing unseen case studies in examinations.

Adapt teaching to meet the needs of mixed-ability learners, providing extra support where needed and challenge activities for high-achieving students.

Use visual tools such as diagrams, flowcharts, and mind maps to make complex business concepts easier to understand.
