A brief introduction
I am an experienced educator with over 15 years of teaching across schools, universities, and teacher-training contexts in Pakistan and internationally. My work sits at the intersection of English language development, social-emotional learning (SEL), special educational needs (SEN), and academic research skills. I hold a Master's in Education from the University of Nottingham with a specialization in Special Needs Education and Educational Leadership, along with certifications in TEFL, IELTS preparation, and inclusion.
I believe learning is most effective when students feel safe, understood, and confident. Whether I am working with young learners, adolescents, or university students, my focus is on building both skills and self-belief. Alongside teaching, I train educators and design learning spaces that are inclusive, reflective, and responsive to diverse learners. I am deeply committed to education that supports the whole learner—not just academic outcomes, but emotional well-being and long-term growth.
Tutoring Experience
I have taught a wide range of learners, from primary and middle school students to university undergraduates, across subjects including English language, academic reading and writing, research methodology, sociology, and communication skills. I currently teach academic writing and research at university level and Global Perspectives at middle school, while also working as a teacher trainer for international publishers and educational organisations.
I am the founder of GrassrootsPk, where I lead English enrichment programmes for children and professional development workshops for teachers. My experience includes working with learners who have dyslexia, anxiety, attention challenges, and language barriers, as well as preparing students for high-stakes assessments and academic transitions. Across all roles, I bring a strong understanding of curriculum design, differentiation, and learner support, informed by both classroom practice and formal training in SEN and SEL.
Teaching Method
My teaching approach is student-centred, inclusive, and research-informed. I prioritise social-emotional safety as the foundation for learning, particularly for students who struggle with confidence, motivation, or traditional classroom structures. Lessons are carefully scaffolded, with clear goals, flexible pacing, and strategies tailored to individual learning needs.
In English and academic skills teaching, I focus on clarity, structure, and critical thinking—helping students understand how to think, not just what to learn. I use questioning, modelling, and guided practice to build independence, especially in reading, writing, and research skills. I regularly adapt my methods for neurodivergent learners and those learning in a second or third language. Above all, I aim to create learning experiences where students feel respected, capable, and supported in reaching their personal and academic goals.
