A brief introduction

I am an MPhil Chemistry graduate with over ten years of experience teaching international curricula. I am passionate about helping students understand chemistry in a clear, structured, and confidence-building way. I strongly believe that effective learning happens in a supportive and respectful environment, and I place great importance on professional conduct, ethical teaching practices, and student wellbeing. I enjoy working with students of different abilities and learning styles, and I take pride in helping those who find chemistry challenging become more confident and independent learners. Whether preparing for exams or strengthening core concepts, my aim is always to make learning meaningful, engaging, and stress-free.

Tutoring Experience

I have over 10 years of teaching experience in O Level and A Level Chemistry (CAIE), with extensive involvement in laboratory-based teaching, which is a compulsory component of A Level Chemistry. I served as an A Level Practical Supervisor for Cambridge International Examinations during the May–June 2023 examination series, ensuring accurate preparation and smooth conduct of practical examinations according to Cambridge standards.

I am Cambridge-trained and have attended professional development sessions, including Focus on Assessment trainings. I have taught at well-reputed institutions including Beaconhouse, Lahore Grammar School (LGS), and Angels International  College (AIC). At AIC, I also taught IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and IB Diploma Programme (DP) Chemistry, where I supported students with IB DP Internal Assessments, supervised experimental work, and guided students through scientific investigation and analysis. In addition, I have extensive online tutoring experience, consistently helping students achieve strong academic results.

Teaching Method

My teaching approach is student-centered, structured, and exam-focused, aimed at building both strong conceptual understanding and practical skills. I break down complex topics into simple, logical steps and adapt lessons to each student's pace and learning style, using differentiated learning strategies to support students who may struggle with certain concepts. I firmly believe that not every student learns the same way, and I tailor my teaching to help each learner reach their potential.

I emphasize exam preparation through mark schemes, past papers, and formative assessments using a variety of techniques to identify strengths and areas for improvement. For practical and experimental topics, I provide step-by-step guidance on experimental design, variables, data collection, analysis, and evaluation, helping students understand both the scientific process and how it is assessed. Lessons are interactive, with lots of practice, quizzes, and structured tests, and I provide constructive feedback to consolidate learning and boost confidence.

I make use of technology to enhance learning, including iPads, PowerPoint presentations, simulations, and interactive lectures, using whatever tools are needed to clarify concepts and engage students effectively. I create a friendly and supportive learning environment, respecting students' voices and choices, encouraging curiosity, and fostering a genuine interest in chemistry. My goal is not only to help students achieve excellent exam results, but also to develop long-term understanding, confidence, and a love for science.
